We Made It!

After a day and two nights on the ferry, and then two 18 hour days going through Canada, we've arrived in Port Townsend! The short and sweet is:

1) The Alaska Marine Highway is still one of the coolest ways to travel. Where else can you have a comfy bed, sightsee along the way, and have halibut burgers for lunch and a grilled oyster dinner on a FERRY??

2) You thought stretches of Alaska highways were remote? Try driving out of Prince Rupert!

3) There is no reason to stay in Prince George, however go an hour further south and stay in Quesnel - and eat at Mike's.

4) You won't enjoy driving Fraser Canyon so much if you have a top heavy load in the back of your truck.

Cell phones are on now that we're back in the States!

Never again

A while back we had discussed whether we would really need to take two weeks off between leaving our jobs and leaving town. The answer now is a definitive YES. There's no way we could have done this in time. Today we're wrapping up last minute errands and we are to be at the ferry terminal tonight. Will travel to Prince Rupert and then drive through Canada - should arrive in Port Townsend Sunday night or possibly Monday!
